The Star Inn at Harome – Eat here
Whether to have a drink in the quintessentially English bar with yummy nibbles placed on the bar whilst you order or you book yourself in for a meal you will enjoy the quirky style of the restaurant. Food is delievered to you in pleasing receptacles that make you wonder where the owners would even buy such things.
The use of edible flowers and the variety of great cheeses make this a foodie heaven. I know QWerkyness.com is not about food but when the food is served inventively….well that makes it interesting to us too.
Mrs W has always loved the Posh Ploughman’s in the summer. Mr Q has loved his plate of Pig, anytime of the year. LOL
Cross House Lodge – Sleep here
The Star’s unique nine-bedroomed hotel is literally across the road from the Pub. All nine rooms are highly individual, many with quirky features, such as Room 1’s bath at the end of the bed, or Room 4’s rope-slung bed, whilst Room 5 has its own snooker table and Room 8 its own piano – take a look and choose your favourite!
The Lounge is a good place to relax in front of the fire with a book and there’s a terrace where you can drink in the sunshine on a summer’s evening. Breakfast is taken in The Wheelhouse with its spectacular beamed ceiling and purpose-built octagonal table. To be fair the breakfast table is in itself one of the most spectacular things about this hotel with a difference.
Yet another place not to miss folks. Its too good to let it pass by you.
