Once on the Derwent Valley Light Railway, there are three refitted railway carriages within the grounds of the original station. The Derwent Mail is a converted MK2 Mail Van. The Derwent Flyer is a converted First-Class Compartments which have seen a very contemporary conversion. The Lady Deramore is an ex-Virgin West Coast Carriage with its own private enclosed garden.
Blackberry Halt is a beautifully converted ‘loading bay’. All are situated on the old Derwent Valley Light Rail line, once known as the Blackberry Line because of all the blackberries on Skipwith Common which is adjacent! The Derwent Flyer and Mail carriages (which can be opened up as one unit) are pet friendly, and The Lady Deramore carriage and Blackberry Halt are pet free. There are open views and private platform areas for all three carriages and for the Blackberry Halt guests, they can enjoy their own private courtyard with exclusive use of the hot tub. BBQ’s are available to all. There is a large well kept garden with badminton and croquet available and with happy chickens roaming free!
