Former Hickory’s Roadhouse and Grill, the all American Huckleberry’s Dinner offers really tasty food in an authentically styled American diner.
Lets face it, if you buy a restaurant miles from anywhere then your food offer needs to be pretty unique. That’s what Huckleberry’s Dinner has managed to do. People travel for many miles to have a go at the food challenge. They have a number of challenges, all set against the clock and all majorly big portions.
If you are having a go at the challenge then don’t be surprised if fellow “normal” diners initially wish you good luck. After a little while they will happily come to see how you are doing, before they leave they will come to see how its going and don’t be surprised if they hang around to see how you do.
I suggested to Mr Q when we went that there could be a good little sideline running a book, betting on who will win and who will loose. Most men start out confident that they will win…..only to find that they give up amidst a torrent of moans of groans. A friend of ours took her boyfriend and after the challenge reported that he parted with his food in a bush on the way home. As my old Mum would say “What a waste!”
One heckuva quirky place to eat. Great food even if you don’t do the challenge. If there is someone taking the challenge in at the same time as you….cheer them on, give them some encouragement. However, stand well back if he/she turns puce. It may mean that they could re-enact a scene from The Exorcist.
A restaurant that is well worth a visit.
