Cafe Below, London EC2V

Cafe Below
In a mediaeval crypt of St Mary le Bow Church, the Cafe Below is a City of London institution.
Being beneath the Bow Bells, they are dedicated to all things London and source as locally as possible; the coffee is roasted in Hackney and the beer brewed in the East End. For breakfast, it is a perfect place for a moment of quiet before the day begins or a small or large business meeting, all with Homemade rye toast, River Farm smoked salmon, Brioche French toast and their own granola.

Profile Description

The Cafe Below is one of those places you would walk straight past without realising that there is such a wonderful atmospheric café in the crypt below.

You cant get a more spectacular place to pull up a chair and have a nice meal, glass of wine or a coffee. I have often been to a venue wher they have murals on the wall depicting the type of thing you have here beneath Bow Bells. Crisp white table cloths contrast with the old stone walls and pillars. Spectacular? Yes!

The eccentricity of this café/eatery means its a must go place for all your quirky lovers. Why spend your time in boring places when you can sit and ponder what history has happened here?

Love this place…and so will you x
