Who would not want to stay here?
Although its quite a drive and therefore I am more likely to say I don’t relish the thought of the long drive (for us!) However, I am inclined to think that there are not many properties that are featured on Grand Designs and therefore I think the drive would be worth it.
This is seriously quirky.
Its just a few metres from the shore with exceptional views through the huge semi-circle of windows at the end of the house; to the west towards Leverburgh and Northton Hill and to the east Skye & the Cullins. Also Roineabhal, the highest peak in South Harris, can be seen to the back of the house.
It is very spacious with an open plan living area and vast panoramic windows giving 180 degrees of stunning views. The house features a turf roof, metre thick stone walls, an exposed timber frame, slate floors with under floor heating, japanese style soak tub (big enough for 2) with shower, fully equipped kitchen, 2 double bedrooms one of which is a unique sleeping platform with views across the Sound of Harris.
In an age where system and kit building define how we live Blacksheep House’s individual organic construction is both a surprise and a delight.
We love it!!
